Open Door Peace is a place for learning, practical support, respectful conversation, and human connection. Everyone who enters this community should be treated with dignity, patience, and care.
These standards apply to members, visitors, volunteers, moderators, staff, and anyone participating through Open Door Peace.
Treat Everyone With Respect
We welcome people of different ages, cultures, languages, abilities, beliefs, identities, and life experiences.
Do not insult, threaten, shame, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against another person. Disagreement is allowed, but cruelty and personal attacks are not.
Protect Privacy
Do not post another person’s private information without permission.
Avoid sharing sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, immigration numbers, financial account information, medical records, passwords, or full identification documents in public community areas.
Information shared through assistance services will be handled with care and used only for the intended service purpose.
Do Not Exploit Community Members
No person serving through Open Door Peace may charge, request, accept, or suggest payment, tips, gifts, favors, or personal compensation from anyone receiving assistance.
Members may not use the community to solicit money, sell unauthorized services, recruit for private business, or take advantage of people who are seeking help.
Share Information Responsibly
Do not knowingly post false, misleading, dangerous, or fraudulent information.
When discussing health, immigration, benefits, legal matters, finances, or other important decisions, clearly distinguish personal experience from professional advice. Members should confirm important information through official sources or qualified professionals.
Keep the Community Safe
Violence, threats, stalking, sexual harassment, hate speech, exploitation, scams, and illegal activity are prohibited.
Do not encourage self-harm, harm to others, or dangerous conduct. Open Door Peace is not an emergency response service. Anyone facing immediate danger should contact local emergency services.
Respect the Purpose of Each Community Space
Stay reasonably connected to the subject of the page, room, or discussion.
Do not repeatedly disrupt conversations, flood the community with unrelated material, impersonate another person, or interfere with another member’s ability to participate.
Moderation
Open Door Peace may review community activity and may edit or remove content, restrict participation, suspend access, or close an account when necessary to protect members or the integrity of the community.
Whenever reasonably possible, concerns will be handled with explanation, fairness, and an opportunity for correction. Serious safety violations, exploitation, fraud, or repeated misconduct may result in immediate removal.
